The enzyme is highly specific for ADP-D-ribose 1′′-phosphate. Involved together with EC 126.96.36.199, 2′,3′-cyclic-nucleotide 3′-phosphodiesterase, in the breakdown of adenosine diphosphate ribose 1′′,2′′-cyclic phosphate (Appr>p), a by-product of tRNA splicing.
