Arogenate dehydrogenases may utilize NAD+ (EC 184.108.40.206), NADP+ (EC 220.127.116.11), or both (EC 18.104.22.168). Enzymes that can utilize both cofactors have been reported from some Proteobacteria, including Burkholderia caryophylli, Burkholderia cepacia, Pseudomonas marginata and Delftia acidovorans.
